PSP Store errors - Playstation HELP!

"Communication with the server failed (0x80048a25)" Solved!

When Sony first announced that gamers were going to be able to download PSone classic video games through an online store, big expectations hit gamers all over the world. As the moment arrived only those with the money and will to spend $600 on a video game system were able to access the online store through the PS3 system. Sony then open the store to PSP "only" users by allowing video games downloads to the PSP system through the PC store. But what was good news for some gamers became a nightmare for others. After all PSP owners had to wait, they were not able (and still not able) to download content to their PSP because a number of errors that even Sony Reps. don't know how to fix. The PC store is full of PSP video games, demos, videos and PSone classics, in an official SONY Playstation website to safely download content to your PSP. However, numerous errors have been posted all over the internet, forums and blogs, from people trying to find a solution for their download problems and so far no solution has been offered by SONY.

A google search with the words "Playstation Store Error" would generate 200,000 results as of today and another 700,000 for "Playstation Store Help". In every single website that you visit you will find gamers asking over and over the same questions with no real response to them. "Make sure you have the USB plug in your PC"; "You need the Network Downloader"; "Click where it says Download" and all sort of stupid and useless solutions that we all have gone through for several times with no results. The same solutions that Sony Reps will offer if you are stupid enough to waste your time by calling them. "Give me a minute" said to me a Sony Rep. over the phone "Im going to do some research"; you gotta be kidding me, I hope he was using google.

Another one told me "The game you are downloading is not for use on the PSP system" when all the games on the PC store are PSP friendly. "You have to extract the file first" when the files on the PC store are XPD files that go straight to your PSP without no extracting. It was my internet connection, your cookies, "close your browser and open it again", it was a ridiculous and pathetic attempt every single time I seek help from any of this clowns.

Finally after a week of searching and hitting my head on the wall, someone found the solution at the playstation forum, specifically on this post. This probably wont work for everyone but at least it worked for me and of course if this is your error number it will probably work for you too. The trick lies on the "Date & Time Settings"; it must be set using the internet option "Via Internet" and voila' problem solved. Of course you gotta have in mind all steps I took before doing this, so that means that in order to solve the problem you will probably have to:

1) Format your memory card (that means erasing everything from your PSP; so you should make a backup folder and save it in your PC first, not like me, that deleted everything after a Sony Rep asked me without warning me first and there went all my files)

2) Reset your Default Settings (that means that the PSP is going to make a restart and you will have to set some things after boot)

3) And finally the Date & Time thing that I already mention.

Those are all the steps that you could take on your PSP that "could" have some effect on the donwload process. Now in your PC; would be uninstalling and Installing the Network Downloader and deleting cookies, temp. files in any browser that you are using, and if you are using IE and Mozilla, make sure you do this on both regardless of the one you are using.

-------------------------------------------------

For all of you that are still having problems with the Playstation Store and if you paid for any games and don't have access to them anymore and want a refund, you will have to contact Sony asking for the refund first, (and of course they will say NO) then I suggest you to fill a complaint at http://www.bbb.org - Make sure that you specify your intentions of getting a refund and that you don't have the service or good that you paid for.
